Ozone Steam Bath

Ozone is a naturally occurring substance made up of 3 atoms of oxygen. Ozone is made up of 3 atoms (O3) that have a very high oxidation effect which has many therapeutic applications. Most people have heard of ozone cleaners for hot tubs and in air filters. Medical doctors first used ozone for it bactericidal properties in WWI to treat infected wounds in WWI; its medical uses are vast. Ozone systems clean municipal water supplies in many large cities, hot tub ozonators clean home spas, and many air filters produce low-levels of ozone gas to filter dust and debris from the air.

WHAT IS AN OZONE STEAM BATH AND WHAT ARE ITS BENEFITS?

An ozone steam bath utilizes the therapeutic benefits of both. Steam stimulates sweating, which allows bodily wastes to be eliminated through perspiration.  Ozone is pumped into the steam cabinet through a hose. Ozone is a volatile gas; the instant it is released in the cabinet, the third molecule of oxygen breaks off leaving pure oxygen (O2). The steam heat opens the pores and vasodilates the superficial capillaries, facilitating transdermal absorption of oxygen through the skin. Bodily wastes are eliminated through perspiration. Heat and steam loosens and relaxes muscular tension.

Ozone provides several therapeutic effects. It cleanses and disinfects the skin, leaving you feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Ozone is absorbed into the muscles and bloodstream through the skin, oxygenating the bodily tisses, enhancing circulation, and creating an energizing effect. Many people use ozone to battle chronic fatigue. Ozone also disinfects the skin, so many use it to promote healing and reduce scarring at incision sites, and to clear up stubborn infections on the skin.

The wetness of the steam allows the ozone to seep through the skin, as ozone does not enter the body at all if the skin is dry. Furthermore, the heat from the steam induces perspiration. Once the skin is wet, ozone is more readily absorbed into the bodily tissues. Transdermal absorption is especially helpful for cleansing the lymphatic tissue—which needs support since it does not have its own pumping organ to circulate lymphatic fluid.

HOW SAFE IS AN OZONE STEAM BATH?

Ozone steam baths are completely safe for anyone who can use a sauna safely, which excludes people with cardiovascular disease or high blood pressure. Because ozone should never be breathed, the steam tent is like a Turkish bath; your head protrudes from the top to protect your lungs and eyes as the steam and ozone inside the cabinet bathes your skin. The room is well-ventilated and to ensure your comfort and safety, heat controls are within reach. We also provide an air cushion to pad your back and relaxing music to calm your mind.

HOW LONG WILL THE OZONE STEAM TAKE?

About 45 minutes total. To achieve the therapeutic effects of an ozone steam bath, the optimal time is 30 minutes in the tent, 15 minutes for undressing and dressing. You have the option of ending the steam bath whenever you want; beginners may want to start out with 15-20 minute in the tent.

HOW SAFE IS IT?

Taking an ozone steam bath is as safe as taking a sauna. Since ozone should never be inhaled, your head protrudes from the top of the steam cabinet to protect your lungs.

To ensure your comfort and safety, the room is well-ventilated, heat controls are within reach, and you can stop anytime. Mary Ann is there to assist you throughout the session. She provides an air pillow to pad your lower back, water to quench your thirst, and relaxing music to calm both body and mind.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE? WHAT DO I WEAR? HOW DO I PREPARE?

To achieve the therapeutic effects of an ozone steam, the optimal bath takes 15-25 minutes. Newcomers to ozone steam baths usually start out with 15-20 minutes.

The therapeutic benefits of ozone are maximized by how much skin is exposed while steaming. Similar to massage therapy, clients undress to their comfort level and get in and out of the cabinet in privacy. To prepare for this unique steam and oxygen immersion, take a shower before arriving and do not apply any lotions or cremes to your skin.

WHAT DOES IT COST AND HOW DO I SCHEDULE A SESSION?
